The U-Bike Portugal aims to promote soft mobility, in particular cycling, in the academic communities.
It’s co-financed by the PO SEUR - Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources, the Portugal 2020 and the EU - Cohesion Fund. And is part of the program to support the implementation of energy efficiency measures and public transport consumptions rationalisation.
The U-BIKE Portugal Project is a national project coordinated by the Institute of Mobility and Transport, I.P. (IMT).
By 2018 U-bikes must travel more than 2,400 kilometers, contributing to energy and resources savings, and CO2 emissions reduction.
The UAUbike, is the he University of Aveiro’s project, which inserted in the U-Bike Portugal, aims to promote soft mobility and cycling in the city and the University campuses (Santiago, ESAN, ESTGA).
The Uaubike will provide the Aveiro’s academic community 142 conventional bicycles and 97 electric bicycles.
All members of the University of Aveiro academic community which are use individual motorized transport on the trips to at least one of UA’s three campuses (Santiago, ESAN, ESTGA) are eligible to apply for a bicycle.
Candidates must have a valid UA card and a universal user ID.

How can I monitor the traveled kilometers?
The bikes are equipped with GPS ensures the collection of data (kilometers traveled) for monitoring.

UAUbikes can not be used for profit or commercial purposes or any other use other than the UAUbike project.
It is expressly prohibited renting, selling or giving the bicycle to a third party.
Se a bicicleta e/ou respetivos acessórios for(em) alvo de vandalismo e/ou furto, o utilizador deve informar de imediato a Polícia e o Responsável Técnico do projeto UAUbike. As bicicletas (bem como os seus componentes e acessórios) não serão substituídas se forem vandalizadas ou roubadas.
